Kat Cook is currently a principal with Strategic M&A Advisors and the Director of BroadStreet Business Brokers. Kat oversees the marketing strategy of each engagement and maintains SMAA’s existing relationships with financial and strategic buyers. . She is an advocate for SMAA’s unique process that assists business owners with the highest level of guidance at the most critical stage of the business life cycle – the divestiture stage.
Kat has extensive experience in strategic partnerships, sales, marketing, event management, social media and business development. Prior to joining SMAA, Kat served 2 years as the Executive Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the state of Mississippi. While with the MDA she was appointed to the national strategy team, led the office to award winning fundraising growth, developed and maintained corporate sponsorship relationships and received several other awards within the organization.
She has given back to her community in many ways volunteering with St. Anthony Catholic School as Starry Night Gala co-chair, Athletic Director, and currently is Parent Association President, the Flower’s House (Stewpot Ministry), Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and Executive Women International.
Louisiana-born and Mississippi Gulf Coast raised, Kat received her Bachelor’s degree in communications from Mississippi State University. She currently resides in Madison, MS with her husband Kyle and two children Jackson and Lucy, they are members of Broadmoor Baptist Church. In her spare time Kat enjoys playing tennis, running, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
