Aaron Edwards, a Principal of Strategic M&A Advisors, LLC (“SMAA”), oversees the marketing strategy of each engagement and uses his prior legal experience to manage the critical due diligence process for SMAA’s clients.  Aaron also maintains SMAA’s existing relationships with the financial and strategic buyers as well as actively seeks new relationships.

Prior to working at SMAA, Aaron received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, his Master of Business Administration from Mississippi State University, and his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law.

After graduating from law school, Aaron practiced law at Daniel Coker Horton & Bell, P.A. While a shareholder in the Jackson, Mississippi office of DCHB, Aaron focused on handling complex litigation and commercial transactions, including the areas of corporate law and shareholder disputes.   Aaron was also a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee.  After DCHB, Aaron continued his practice of law as Of Counsel with Randall Segrest Weeks Reeves & Sones, PLLC and focused his practice on commercial and residential property transactions.

Aaron is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the American Bar Association.   Aaron is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, the United States District for the Southern District of Mississippi, and all Mississippi State Courts.

Aaron is also a certified National Football League Players Association (“NFLPA”) Contract Advisor and National Basketball Players Association (“NBPA”) Certified Player Agent.  Aaron is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association and assists players with contract negotiations, endorsement deals, philanthropic endeavors, and a post-career advisor.

Aaron is a member of Leadership Mississippi, Class of 2011; a member of the Mississippi Economic Counsel; and recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as Top 50 Under 40 in 2016.

Aaron currently resides in Madison, Mississippi, with his wife, Andrea, and their three children, Riley, Drew, and Polly.  They are members of Madison Heights Church, PCA, where Aaron is a Ruling Elder and a member of the music team.  Aaron enjoys music, sports, hunting and fishing.
